What it's like to own

The F3 is Segway's newer premium commuter. A magnesium-alloy frame keeps it at 41 lb — about 12 lb lighter than the MAX G2 — while a 1,000 W-peak motor, 477 Wh battery and 44-mile claimed range cover most commutes. It's capped at 20 mph.

It improves on the G2 where it matters: a front disc brake instead of a drum, IPX6 water resistance, a TFT display, SegRide stability control and self-sealing tubeless tires with front hydraulic suspension. A plug-in 460 Wh battery can push the claim to 81 miles.

Owners who came from the MAX G2 or F40 say it climbs better and feels more premium. The 1-star reviews are about a pre-order that never shipped, not the scooter. With 147 ratings, it's newer and less proven than the G2.
