What it's like to own
The C2 Lite is Segway's small kids' scooter, sized for riders 3'9" to 4'9". Three speed modes cap it at 9.9 mph, and a power-assist mode lets parents walk alongside. It starts only after a kick to 3 mph.
It's the only kids' pick here with both UL 2272 and UL 2271 certification, plus IPX4 splash resistance, a mechanical hand brake and a rear drum brake. The 256-color RGB lights are the fun part; the 17 lb frame is easy for parents to carry.
Range is about 70 minutes of riding (5.6 miles at full speed), and riders must be under 110 lb. Parents of 6–8-year-olds say it's built to last.
