What it's like to own
The S7 gives older kids more range than most: a 131 Wh battery is rated for 10 miles, more than double the IK3 or GKS Mini. A 250 W motor offers 5, 8 and 12 mph modes, and cruise control engages after five seconds at a steady speed.
It weighs just 17.4 lb, folds, has three handlebar heights and carries up to 176 lb, so it lasts into the early teens. There's an electronic front brake and a rear foot brake, 7-inch solid tires, LED lights and a Bluetooth speaker.
It's newer and lightly reviewed (40 ratings), no UL certification is listed, and the warranty is only 180 days. One buyer's unit stopped after its second ride and the third-party seller was unhelpful; another says the battery doesn't hold a charge well.
